Privacy policy
Last updated: March 2026
Their Chapter is a trading name of Andrew Ferguson, based in the UK. TheirChapter takes privacy seriously, especially because the photos shared are personal and precious. This policy explains what is collected, how it is used, and your rights as a customer.
What data we collect
When you place an order, Their Chapter collects your name, email address, and the photos you upload. Basic transaction data is collected via Stripe (the payment processor) and standard analytics data is collected via the website. For the Complete Gift, we also collect a delivery address for posting your card.
How we use your photos
Your photos are used exclusively to create your Their Chapter video. They are not used for any other purpose, not shared publicly, and not used to train or improve any AI model.
Who processes your data
Photos are processed by Kling AI (operated by Kuaishou Technology Co., Ltd., based in China) as part of the video creation process. Kuaishou has confirmed in writing that API customer data is not used for AI model training. A Data Processing Agreement is being finalised with Kuaishou.
As Kuaishou is based in China, photos will be transferred internationally. This transfer is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (UK IDTA) to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, which provides appropriate safeguards for your data.
How long we keep your data
Photos are permanently deleted within 30 days of your video being delivered. Order information (name, email, transaction details) is retained for up to 7 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@theirchapter.com. Their Chapter will respond within 30 days.
Cookies and analytics
The Their Chapter website uses standard analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site. No personally identifiable data is collected through cookies without consent.
Payment processing
Payments are handled securely by Stripe. Their Chapter does not store card details. Stripe’s privacy policy can be found at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
